In November 2023, under the crisp air and dark skies of Finland, a significant chapter unfolded in my unique journey from a Canadian in Texas to a fervent Tampereen Ilves supporter. This marked a pivotal moment when my engagement with Finnish ice hockey transcended to a new level as I attended my first Ilves game. The journey, sparked by curiosity, had gradually immersed me in the fervor of the Finnish Liiga, leading up to this unforgettable experience.
